C’est tout! We’re outta here – other adages and such words. We’ve thrown in the towel after 5 years of serving local and seasonal sandwiches to the greater Kitchener Waterloo area. Family priorities have shifted and we’ve had to close down to enable a move for Nick and Natasha. It’s bittersweet – we’ll miss all the great people and customers, but we’re also excited and happy to move onto a fresh stage of our lives, and maybe reclaim our Saturdays for family time. If you need to reach us we’ll be leaving our e-mail open for quite a while and monitoring it.
All the best and thanks for your business over the years!
Hope everyone is enjoying their Summer so far. On Saturday August 11th, we’ll be having our 5th anniversary of opening the restaurant! We’d like to reward all of our customers over the years that have helped make our place a success, even if in a small way. On that day, we’ll be giving out free 4oz. samples of Four All ice cream with all purchases. Come celebrate with us for lunch if you’re passing by.
We’re doing the usual thing around here and taking a bit of a break from the shop mid-August. After Saturday the 11th, we’ll be taking two weeks off, Saturdays inclusive, for some family/vacation time. We’ll be back at it on Tuesday, August 28th. Have a great summer and see you on the flip!
Bacon orders are all in, curing and cooking this week. The first samples are tasting great!
Our winter menu sees the departure of the more warm-weathered Tom-Yum and the Feta, and heralds the return of the Baroness and the Julius. Respectively, they are a black bean and roasted vegetable burger and a chicken Caesar salad sandwich. Both items are back by popular demand, and even us non-vegetarians love this veggie burger. Winter sandwich selections can be tough to keep in season, but these ones are looking great.
We’ll be open on Saturday, December 23rd and then closed for the following week. We’ll be open again Saturday, December 30th and then re-opening on Wednesday, January 3rd.
Wishing you a great end to the year and an easy ramp into the Holiday season.
On Sunday, November 26th will be the second annual Kidney Foundation Christmas Market at the Kitchener Market. We’ll be around offering food for purchase for hungry attendees. With 50 vendors, a bake sale, children’s entertainment, and door prizes, this is a fun event for the whole family – proceeds go towards the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Look for some of our cookies in the bake sale as well, we’ll be donating some to help support the cause as well.
We’re getting ready for a busy ramp into the holiday season this year. Some significant Saturdays over the holidays are causing us to be open for business on December 24th and December 31st. We will be taking a short break between Christmas and the New Year, closing for the week but coming in on Friday the 30th to prep up for Saturday.
Our December/January menu is up and running – we’re bringing back a staple in the Brown Butter Squash. We’re starting to feel like this one belongs on our menu every winter/spring. We do get told this when we happen to not have it on the menu! Also coming onto the menu is a Southern-style barbecue chicken sandwich garnished with fried peppers and onions and inspired by a larger than ever harvest of green tomatoes this year which feature here as a bright relish, tying it all together.
We came back from the holidays for Saturday the 2nd, and will be back in full operation this week coming. Our new menu for January – February will be posted and effective this week. We’re looking forward to meeting some customers new and old this year and working on expanding our growing lunchtime delivery business. Wishing you all the best in 2016!
We’re winding things down for the Holidays around here at the Kitchener Market. The upcoming Saturday, the 19th, should be a good one as many are home from out of town and will be stocking up on farm-fresh goodies for festive times.
We’re planning to be here on the 22nd of December for a clean up and shut down day, so anyone looking to pick up last-minute bacon, that day will be the last chance before Christmas proper. We’ll be back on January 2nd (and a couple of days before prepping back up to open) with a menu update including an old favourite. Stay tuned!
Closed – December 22nd – January 1st Open – January 2nd
